The Board and Management of the Folk Research Centre extends its condolences to the family of Frank Norville who has died at 70 after a long illness. He was a regular tutor at the FRC teaching many students and visiting groups the music and dance traditions of St.Lucia. He had published three books: Folk Dances of St.Lucia:traditional and ethnic; Songs of St. Lucia (1983); Sweet St. Lucia: 28 original songs (2001). He had also recorded several music albums and was a featured artist on other artists' recordings. He was indeed a cultural icon. He had worked for many years with the earlier Cultural department, which preceded the Cultural Development Foundation. He was a photographer, actor, composer, singer and dancer.
